Everyone should get spoiled at Christmas, including our pets! But stuck for ideas on Christmas presents for your pet this year? And what will last until Boxing Day? Here is your definitive list for the perfect, vet approved gifts for them in 2025.
1. Tug-E-Nuff
High quality dog toys, the Tug-E-Nuff brand has something for everyone. The best toy will depend on your dog’s personality and breed, with their bespoke quiz to help you choose the best one for your pet.
Dogs with a strong chase instinct may enjoy the bungee tug toys – these encourage a chase response and play. Alternatively, your dog may prefer a ball to tug – this is best for dogs who love to retrieve and elevate a game of fetch.

2. Reflective Dog Jacket
With the evenings drawing in and the mornings not much better, easy visibility for your dog is imperative. We would recommend a light-up collar as well as a reflective jacket to be able to spot them at a distance. This means your dog will be easy to see for any cars and other people walking their dogs. It also makes it easy to spot them when off lead.
Pets at home have a good range of reflective jackets, linked below:

3. Calming Diffusers for Dogs and Cats
The winter holidays and Christmas typically result in changes to daily routines and an increase in visits from family and friends. As fun as this can be for us, it can also be a source of stress for our pets.
Diffusers such as Adaptil for dogs and Feliway for cats use pheromones to lower stress. Adaptil for dogs contains the dog appeasing pheromone. This is a synthetic copy of the pheromone a female dog releases to comfort her puppies. For cats, the product Feliway Classic contains a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone, this is the pheromone produced when marking objects. This promotes a feeling of calm and safety in the home. Top up sprays such as Pet Remedy containing valerian can also be useful for use in their “safe place” whether this be their own bed or yours!
4. Elevated and Secluded Cat Bed
The best present you can get for your cat this Christmas is a place to rest that is designed with cat behaviour in mind. Research has shown that cats love to sleep in lower traffic areas of the house, away from their own food and water bowls and away from noisy appliances and draughts. Cats also feel safest when up high, like on a windowsill, a bookshelf or on the back of a sofa; preferably in a bed with a roof to promote a feeling of safety and seclusion.
Cats Protection sell the ‘Hide & Sleep®’, a dynamic pet bed that allow two places for hiding, as well as an opportunity to get up high.
Lords and Labradors also have a cat tower which ticks those boxes, linked below.

5. Festive Treats
As much as we want our pets to join in on the fun, sharing the festive feasts can cause tummy upsets! Themed Christmas snacks for your pets are great for including them in the festivities, while minimising the risks.
